Carolina Tree Company, Inc was established in 2007 with the goal to provide tree care services in the upstate SC area, including Greenville, Anderson, Simpsonville, Greer, Taylors, and Easley. We spent 10 years focusing on customer relationships, trimming, and removals, and using our expertise to help home owners and businesses handle any issues in their yard. In 2017, James felt the push towards more innovation and invested in a grapple saw crane, the first in the Greenville area. Since then, we have been a primary source of tree care in upstate SC for those in need of services from storms, large removals, and as a partner with other tree companies. James has learned much of the years, adding Joseph Linn, a certified arborist to his team. Together, they are committed to providing Greenville, Easley, Anderson, Simpsonville, Greer, and other surrounding areas with top notch service focused on keeping the yards beautiful and houses safe.
One of the ways the grapple saw crane changed our business was that we were able to focus on yes, removing trees, but also, being more intentional about where the tree lands and keeping yards from being destroyed by equipment. With a reach over 100 feet, the crane allows us utilize space and keep yards from debris. In 2025, we added a grapple debris truck, a self loading truck, which helps efficiently get rid of debris from trimming and removals. Carolina Tree feels that staying focused on innovative technology helps increase safety and care for employees, homeowners, and businesses alike. We are fully insured and have workers comp, as well as the appropriate credentials and licensing.

Our administrator, Wendi Matt, will get all of your information. From there, Joe or James will reach out to you and schedule a time to meet you and discuss tree care needs.
- What is the cost? Why does it seem to be so expensive? Tree care is dangerous, especially with larger trees. When an associate comes to your home to assess the cost, there are several things they consider:
- Where is the tree located? Is it near power lines, the house, other houses, a fence/pool/driveway. Can the crane easily reach it or do we need a climber?
- How large is it?
- How easily can we access it?
- How to get the debris out of the yard without harming anything
